Eyelid surgery work
- Blepharoplasty. Described on the FAQ page as one of the most common procedures performed by an oculoplastic surgeon: lifts heaviness from the upper lid and reduces fullness of the lower lid; can be combined with laser resurfacing for crow's feet; occasionally performed to increase field of vision when heavy lids obstruct it (faq#blepharoplasty).
- Asian blepharoplasty. Creates a double eyelid fold/crease for patients with a single-fold eyelid configuration, stated to affect about half of the Asian population (faq#blepharoplasty).
- Forehead lift. Listed as "endoforehead, coronal" under cosmetic plastic surgery (cosmetic-plastic-surgery).
- Ptosis (droopy eyelid) repair and eyelid malposition (entropion/ectropion) repair. No page found stating what insurance or Medicare covers specifically for eyelid surgery; the reception page only instructs patients to bring their insurance card to the visit (reception). No dollar prices are published for any procedure.
The FAQ's general eyelid-surgery section states: procedures are performed in a private outpatient surgery center, usually under local anesthesia with light sedation; light bruising and swelling last one to two weeks; patients can drive the next day and resume usual activities except heavy lifting or strenuous exercise for one week; ice compresses are used for the first 48 hours, then warm compresses until swelling subsides (faq).
